At the Mustadafin Foundation, this is a reality seen every day in the communities they serve.

"Last year, we were very fortunate and could assist 497 children with stationery and 23 with school uniforms," says Ghairunisa Johnstone-Cassiem, Director of the Mustadafin Foundation. "Our focus is on communities such as Hanover Park, where many families are navigating significant socio-economic challenges. In many cases, we were also able to provide food support, as households are under severe financial strain. This year, we are receiving many more requests from parents and schools."

There is still an urgent need for at least 100 additional basic school supply packs, not only in Hanover Park, but also across other communities facing similar challenges, says the foundation.

Mustadafin's annual School Supply Drive exists to make that possible.

Through starter stationery packs, school uniforms and basic stationery bundles, Mustadafin helps children arrive at school ready to focus on learning. A pencil becomes a voice. A uniform builds confidence. A school bag carries possibility, adds the foundation.

Every contribution, whether large or small, helps a child feel ready to begin.

The school year has begun. Right now, help is still needed for at least 100 children, concludes the foundation.
